A true Foundation
The focus of the work of the Foundation is primarily education and in the establishment of activity that is self-generating, a foundation in the truest sense of the word.
Individuals and organisations that receive the benefits of activity delivered by the Foundation will, it is hoped, make a commitment in the long term to ‘give back’ in a variety of ways, not necessarily in financial terms but through their efforts to improve and enrich the lives of people and communities in Australia and the world.
The Tuckwell Scholarship is an example of this approach.
The Foundation prefers to be the main contributor or partner, rather than one of a set of contributors. In this way it will be able to make a more significant difference to projects it chooses to support or instigate.
